A Devon university claims it is becoming increasingly popular with international students.
The University of Plymouth says 50% of its internet enquiries each month are from potential overseas students.
A record number of them from Europe, Nigeria, India and Pakistan, have registered for its open days.
Prospective international students are interested in a range of courses, with nursing one of the most popular, the university claims.
Around 1,000 of the university's 30,000 student population comes from overseas.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Roland Levinsky, has set a target of recruiting 1,700 students by 2007, saying they are great ambassadors for the city.
