Cow barn sells for £88,000
Bold Hay in Lamerton
About 1,000 sets of details were sent out to potential buyers
A derelict Devon cow shed has been sold at auction for nearly £90,000, even though no one may ever get to live in it.

Planning officers say permission for residential use is unlikely to be forthcoming for Bold Hay at Lamerton, which fetched almost three times its £30,000 guide price at auction in Cornwall on Tuesday.

The property attracted international interest when it came on to the market and was viewed by hundreds of potential buyers.

The shed, which measures 39 feet by 15 feet, is set in 1.45 acres of land in an isolated position near Tavistock.

Gordon Millar from Stags, the agents handling the sale, said about 1,000 sets of particulars were sent out.
