Geoff Thompson has been FA chairman for eight years

Football Association chairman Geoff Thompson has been made an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Mr Thompson from Chesterfield will step down in 2008 after eight years as the FA's chairman but will continue as a vice-president of both FIFA and UEFA.
He said: "I am pleased and deeply honoured to receive this award."
Richard Brown, chief executive of Eurostar who lives in Derby and has more than 25 years' experience in the rail industry, was made a CBE.
