A new scheme to create more affordable housing in Derby has been opened.
The Brambles at Heatherton Village has been developed as a partnership by Derby City Council, Home Housing, the Housing Corporation and Miller Homes.
The 51-home project is made up of 14 leasehold bungalows for the over 55s, 16 homes for rent and 21 two and three-bedroom homes for sale.
The Mayor of Derby, Councillor Ruth Skelton, officially opened the viewing home on Thursday.
Sue Glithero, the council's director of policy, said: "There is a shortage of affordable homes for rent and purchase in Derby.
"The scheme at Heatherton is a good example of how the council, housing associations and developers can all work together."
Sue Cook, regional director from Home Housing, said: "The Brambles is a first for Home Housing as it incorporates some houses for sale, something we have not done before.
