Pensioner wins £1m Bond jackpot
A lucky pensioner was celebrating this week after scooping the £1m tax-free Premium Bond jackpot.

The woman, who asked not to be named, is from Warwickshire and bought the winning number in 1994.

She holds £2,575 in Premium Bonds and is the 132nd person to win the jackpot - the second in Warwickshire since the top prize was introduced in 1994.

The pensioner said she was "over the moon" and now plans to pay off her mortgage and take a "long holiday".

She added: "It's such an incredible surprise. I really never imagined I would ever win so much money.

"I've had a few small wins over the years, but you never think you're going to be the one who gets the jackpot, especially if you only have a little investment, like me."

Premium Bonds were made available to buy online for the first time in their almost 50-year history in February this year.
