New accommodation for 500 students may not be enough

The research shows Falmouth may not be able to house the growing number of students coming to the town.

The study was carried out by Exeter University and Falmouth College of Arts who will share Falmouth's Tremough campus from next month.

They say the results mean more residences will have to be built.

The study questioned students about where they would like to live, and asked landlords how many additional rooms and houses might be available to rent in the next five years.

It revealed that most students would prefer to live in the Falmouth and Penryn area, but that Falmouth will not be able to cope with all the future demand.

New residences for 500 students have already been built at Tremough, but the figures mean more accommodation may have to built.
