A Cornwall town is celebrating after the opening of its new lifeboat station and the naming of the area's new Atlantic-class lifeboat.
The RNLI has invested thousands of pounds at Looe to improve life-saving cover in the area.
The new Albatross Lifeboat Station will house Looe's new Atlantic 75-class vessel.
The new boat is larger and faster than the previous boat and will extend the area which the crew can cover.
The new developments come after a partnership between the RNLI and the East Looe Town Trust, which saw a site on the seafront redeveloped into a boathouse.
The vessel was officially launched by Elizabeth Beaton and has been named "Alan and Margaret" after her late parents.
