The council hopes the park will be an attraction for visiting skaters
Designs have been unveiled for a new skate park in west Cornwall.

The park, in Penzance, will be the first in the UK to be designed by the American company Wormhoudt Inc.

Its plans for a park in the Princess May recreation ground are based on the famous Greenfield California site in the United States.

It is a "bowl orientated" design which has been shortlisted by Sport England as one of only four in the South West to get the go ahead.

Penwith District Council said it hopes the park will benefit local youngsters and also become a tourist attraction for visiting skaters.
