Artists' group funding withdrawn
A black artists' project has had its funding withdrawn by The Arts Council.

The Bristol-based Kuumba Project's grant will not be renewed for the next two years amidst fears the scheme could now close.

Kuumba's managing director Ron Morrison said he was devastated by the news. He added that the centre now faced a real threat to its future.

Meanwhile, The Bristol Old Vic won £2m from the Arts Council towards its ongoing refurbishment costs.
