'Cabbie guard' scheme is piloted
Around 20 Bristol taxi drivers are to be given extra protection from attacks.

Plastic screens to separate drivers from passengers, known as "cabbie guards" are being installed in a six-week pilot scheme.

Safer Bristol, the city council and the police are funding the guards, which cost around £250 each.

Cab drivers interviewed by BBC Radio Bristol were split on the measure - some praised the safety aspect, others said they would hinder conversation.
