Food store to buy forecourt units
The Bristol-based supermarket chain Somerfield has confirmed it is in talks to buy 140 petrol station forecourt stores from Texaco.

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed which will see the supermarket's forecourt store portfolio increase to 170 units.

Under the terms of the agreement, Texaco will continue to supply fuel to the forecourts.

The announcement comes as Somerfield considers a £1bn takeover bid.
