Bus passengers in Bristol and North Somerset could benefit from more than £400,000 in funding.
The money is part of £19.6m that is being awarded by the government to 40 urban bus schemes across England.
A total of £240,000 has gone to the Hartcliffe and Withywood community partnership for six new minibuses.
North Somerset Council has also received £180,000 to create new bus routes.
The money is from the Urban Bus Challenge, which helps regenerate deprived
urban areas by improving local transport.
Transport Minister Tony McNulty said: "Buses are a major link for many people and the schemes which have been awarded funding will bring real benefits to many communities."
