Domestic violence is expected to increase during the World Cup and police are urging victims not to suffer in silence.
Sgt Jo Ferris, of Thames Valley Police, said: "It is a sad fact that all types of crime including domestic abuse tend to rise during major sporting events."
Police blame a combination of "emotions running high" and people drinking more alcohol for the increase in violence.
Police said victims of abuse should not be afraid to contact them.
Sgt Ferris said: "Domestic abuse is often a hidden crime and we appreciate the courage of victims who take the step to report such abuse.
