All nominees will be invited to an evening with the mayor of Slough
People who have made an exceptional contribution to the arts in Slough are to be recognised with a clutch of awards.

Slough Borough Council is inviting nominations for six categories in the Mayor's Arts Awards, including one especially for women artists.

Everyone who is nominated will be invited to an evening with the mayor, Laurie Gleeson.

Entries must be in by 20 February and must be for artists or groups involved in projects between April 2003 and March 2004.

Mr Gleeson said: "There are many people in the town who are dedicated to developing arts in the community.

This is a great way to thank them for all their hard work and hopefully get others interested and involved in arts projects across the borough."
