An operation to move a 100-year-old tree has taken place in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
The 40-foot high oak, which is protected by a preservation order, was uprooted to make way for a new supermarket car park.
The move cost £20,000 and was paid for by the supermarket giant Asda.
Huib Sneep from BSI International, who was in charge of moving the tree, said the hard and stony soil had presented some difficulties.
He said: "For England, it is the first time we have done this.
"In Holland we have done about 30 of these jobs in the last seven years."
The tree is now on the other side of the site off Monkswood Way.
