Bureau merger 'weeks away'
Plans to merge Shropshire's Citizens Advice Bureaus could be pushed through by the end of May, it has been revealed.

The issue is set to be discussed at a series of general meetings throughout April.

The four bureaus involved - Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Borders, North and South Shropshire - are all organising extraordinary general meetings in April to discuss the merger proposals.

If the resolution passes, the constitutions of the individual bureaus will have to be altered before any merger can go ahead.

No merger would be pushed through unless all four of the groups agree.

The organisation would also change its name to the Shropshire Citizens Advice Bureau.
