Council plans classrooms revamp
Temporary classrooms across Warwickshire are being replaced in a £3.9m programme.

The county council plans to cut the number of temporary classrooms by nearly 25%.

There are currently 93 temporary classrooms at primary schools, and a further 122 in secondary schools.

Top of the council's priority list is Ashlawn School, Rugby, which has 13 temporary classrooms.

"Getting rid of temporary classrooms is one of our highest priorities for improving school buildings," said Councillor Richard Grant, cabinet portfolio holder for schools.

"We are really pleased to be in a position to make a start on this, and create learning environments for our young people which are fit for the 21st Century."
