Arrests after fake guns report
Five men have been arrested after reports that passengers in a car waved guns at members of the public in Ripley.
Armed officers swooped on a vehicle on Friday night and found what have been described as two imitation firearms - one similar to a pump action shotgun.
Inspector Lee Collison from Derbyshire Police said anyone who carried replica guns was putting themselves at incredible and unnecessary risk.
He said: "One can imagine what would have happened if one of these people had shown a little bit too much bravado and pointed one of these weapons in the direction of an armed officer - it's absolutely frightening."
