The deputy governor of Bullingdon Prison in Oxfordshire has been charged with possessing cocaine.

Terence McLaren, 47, of south east London, will appear at Woolwich Magistrates Court on 25 March charged with possession of a class A drug.

A Prison Service spokesman said: "I can confirm that a member of staff at HMP Bullingdon has been charged with possession of a class A drug.

"The member of staff is currently suspended from his job at the prison."

Bullingdon, which opened in 1992, is a local category B training prison for men.
