Master plan for resort revamp
Blackpool's Golden Mile
The plans aim to bring new visitors to the seaside resort
A "master plan" to transform Blackpool into a world-class resort is being unveiled.

Two teams of international consultants will present their ideas to the borough council on Wednesday night.

Plans for long-term improvements in the resort have included a proposal for Las Vegas-style casinos.

The Masterplan is not directly linked to the gambling resort plan, but casinos may be included in the consultants' ideas.

The brief for the Masterplan was to transform Blackpool from an ailing seaside resort into an international visitor destination.

Blackpool has already secured £10m of European money to start to put some of the ideas into practice.

A consultation exercise will be carried out when councillors have considered the ideas.
