Plans for A1 go on show
Almost £8m is to be spent on improving part of the A1 through Nottinghamshire.

The proposals will affect the route at Markham Moor.

The Highways Agency is holding an exhibition at East Markham Village Hall on Friday and Saturday to display the improvements.

On display are the plans for £7.8m worth of road improvements in the area.

The scheme would see the existing roundabout at Markham Moor replaced with two linked roundabouts, bridging the junction with the A1.

The roadworks would extend to Apleyhead where the same so-called "dumb bell" style roundabouts would be built.

Officials say the new plans are designed to improve safety, reduce congestion and make journey times more reliable.
