Cash for recycled garden
A garden made from waste material has been awarded a cash grant of £20,000.

The money, from the South Gloucestershire Environment Body, will help the Avon Wildlife Trust develop the garden at Willsbridge Mill.

Among the ideas to demonstrate sustainable living will be a set of upturned toilets which are used as seats.

Other features include baths and sinks for a wetland area, pallets for leaf mould bins, and artificial bird boxes crafted from scrap timber.

Ruth Worsley, project manager, said: "The 'use again' garden is one way we can make a contribution to reducing the waste mountain in the countryside.

"Scrap wood, redundant bathroom suites and old containers can be given a new lease of life."

Bricks, pieces of slate, taps, old plumbing, plastic piping and sinks are all needed at the garden.
