Prisoner found hanged in cell
Prison life
There have been three deaths at New Hall in a year
A prisoner has been found hanged at New Hall jail in Wakefield.

It is the third hanging at the women's prison in a year.

Helena Price, 27, was found hanged by the belt of her dressing gown on 14 February.

She had been convicted of dishonesty by Leeds magistrates and remanded to New Hall to await sentence.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "We were called to New Hall Prison at 1430 GMT on Friday after a 27-year-old woman was found dead in her cell."

Both West Yorkshire Police and the Prison Service are holding inquiries.

An inquest is due to open into Miss Price's death.
