Thieves take away KFC statue

The statue of Colonel Sanders is worth about £80
Police in South Devon are hunting thieves who made off with a statue of Colonel Sanders.

They took the statue after a midnight visit to the Kentucky Fried Chicken takeaway in Newton Abbot.

Police say four men aged between about 18 and 25 went into the KFC in Queen Street in the town in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

They bought their food and then made off with the seven-feet-high plastic statue.

The statue - valued at £80 - was not secured so they had no problem picking it up and carrying it off.

Police are asking for any sightings of the statue to be reported.
