Police seize fake guns
Imitation firarms
Officers say imitation weapons can be converted
Police in East Lancashire have seized seven imitation firearms.

Officers are warning owners and retailers that some fake guns may be potentially dangerous and need a licence.

The weapons were not seized in a firearms operation, and it is thought the owner was unaware of their potential dangers.

Forensic tests are due to be carried out on the weapons, which were taken to Burnley police station.

It is possible they could be readily converted into live handguns.

Lancashire Police say many owners may be unaware that the weapons they have may be illegal, and are urging people to check with them.
