Plans to sell-off three-quarters of airport are being discussed at meetings on Tuesday.

The site is jointly owned by Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council who will be deciding on their preferred bidder from a shortlist of interested companies.

The councils do not have enough money to fund major improvements.

New routes

Both authorities hope a sell-off would bring a major investment from any company buying a stake in the operation.

Any deal will fuel hopes new routes and attracting a budget airline to operate from the airport.

TBI - with the motto "Airports are our business" - already owns three UK regional airports at Luton, Cardiff and Belfast.

The company has recently invested £6m in Luton Airport and in eight yerars has spent £20m upgrading Cardiff Airport.
