Cancer heroine completes half marathon
Jane Tomlinson
The 38-year-old running the York half marathon
A woman who is terminally ill with cancer has completed another race.

Jane Tomlinson, from Rothwell, Leeds, was one of hundreds of runners who took part in Sunday's half marathon in York.

The 13-mile race started and ended at the city's racecourse.

After the event, she said: "It's nice to have finished.

Award winner

"Considering the chemotherapy, I'm just pleased to be able to run 13 miles."

The 38-year-old mother-of-three has already raised £105,000 for charity after successfully completing the London Marathon, the London Triathlon, and the Great North Run.

Her exploits and bravery also earned her the Helen Rollason award at last year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago but despite a mastectomy the cancer later spread to her lungs.

She is expected to announce details of her latest fundraising venture later in the week.
