Replica gun prompts armed response
Armed police generic
Armed police were called to the incident
Armed police were called to a fast food restaurant in Norfolk after a youth was seen brandishing a replica handgun.

Just before 2130 GMT on Tuesday a red Ford Fiesta pulled into Burger King on Sweet Briar Road in Norwich.

Three youths made an order at a drive-thru and as the cashier turned away, one was seen pointing a gun at his back.

A security guard alerted Norfolk Police who sent two armed-response teams, dogs and a number of officers.

They followed the car to the driver's home and confronted him, only to find the gun was in fact a toy replica.

The driver and one other youth have been charged with public order offences and the police are considering pressing firearms charges.
