Adam Twine, a farmer from Shrivenham, near Swindon, wants to expand his business into energy production.

He has already been given planning permission to build a set of five turbines.

Now he has decided he wants to build the masts taller than originally planned.

Mr Twine says the new design will be quieter and produce 40% more energy.

But residents in the area are objecting to his proposals, saying that at a height of 81 metres the turbines will be visible for almost 15 miles.

They have formed an action group and say they will hold a protest to make their feelings on the matter clear.

The proposal is set to be considered by planners next month.
