Missing pensioner found by helicopter

Police used a helicopter and heat-seeking equipment
An elderly Gloucestershire man is recovering in hospital after going missing on Monday night.

The 88-year-old man was found by a police helicopter and dog handlers after disappearing from a nursing home in Westbury-on-Severn.

Sub-zero temperatures prompted police to call in extra help at midnight when the man had still not been found.

A police helicopter with heat-seeking equipment tracked the pensioner to gardens close to the nursing home, where he was discovered by a dog handler.

The man is recovering in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
