New safety measures at motorway junction
Cars on motorway
Road markings will be improved
Work is about to begin to reduce jams at one of West Yorkshire's busiest road junctions.

The Highways Agency is to install extra traffic lights at the Chain Bar roundabout at junction 26 of the M62

A number of major routes , including the M606 to Bradford, converge at Chain Bar with queues quickly building up at peak times.

The new work means that nearly all traffic approaching the roundabout will be controlled by full-time traffic signals.

Some road widening work will also be carried out and road markings improved.

Work is expected to be completed in May.

The £600,000 cost is being paid for by Wilson Bowden Developments as a condition of getting planning permission to develop a site near Chain Bar.
