Overcrowding to ease on GNER services
GNER train
The extra capacity will be added early in the new year
Rail passengers using GNER services will benefit from an extra 1,500 seats on its daily services.

The train operator is leasing additional carriages from Angel Trains.

The Mark Three carriages, transferred from another part of the rail network, are due to be operational from the start of the new year.

They will be used on the East Coast Mainline between London and Scotland.

The additional capacity will be equivalent to adding a new train to the fleet.
