Two killed in 'wrong way' crash
M1
The accident happened on the northbound carriageway
Two drivers were killed when a car travelling the wrong way down a motorway hit another vehicle head-on.

The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the M1 at about 0020 GMT on Tuesday.

The two vehicles collided just before the Watford Gap service station in Northamptonshire.

Police believe the car that was driving south may also have travelled the wrong way down the M45 before joining the M1.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The motorway has been reopened.
