Police motorcyclist injured in crash
The officer was on a training course
A police motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after becoming trapped under a car after a crash.
Striking firefighters left their picket lines to offer help after the accident near St Neots in Cambridgeshire at about 1200 GMT. The injured officer, who has not been named, works for the City of London Police and was on a motorcycle training course. He was in collision with a Ford Granada on the rural Longstowe Road near the village of Little Gransden. Air ambulance Other officers on the training course also helped the man after the accident. He was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. A man and a woman in the Ford Granada suffered from shock but were otherwise uninjured. The road was expected to remain closed until mid-afternoon.
