Snakes seized on promenade

Photographers target tourists in Blackpool
Two men have been arrested and two snakes have been seized in an operation targeting street photographers in Blackpool.

The RSPCA and Lancashire Police carried out the joint operation on Sunday.

Two Burmese pythons were seized by officers on the promenade, close to the resort's Pleasure Beach.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to animals.

The operation focused on photographers who charge for taking pictures of tourists with snakes.

The two men were questioned by officers and later released on police bail.

Both snakes are being cared for by the RSPCA.
