Bumper earnings for Yorkshire's rich
Money
Yorkshire's top earners receive millions a year
Two businessmen brothers who started out running market stalls in Huddersfield are this year's highest earners in Yorkshire.

Gurchait and Gurnaik Chima are each estimated to have made £9.5m over the past 12 months.

The brothers built up the Bon Marche chain of women's fashion shops before selling the company in July for £51.3m.

Another rich Yorkshire family, according to the Sunday Times survey, is the father and son team behind Dixon Motors based at Thorne near Doncaster.

Naseem Hamed: Earnings down on last year

Paul Dixon trained as an accountant before going into selling cars.

In April the firm was taken over by the Royal Bank of Scotland, leaving Paul Dixon with a pay packet for the year of £4.34m.

His son Simon earned a similar amount from his stake in the business.

One person who has not done so well this year is the boxer 'Prince' Naseem Hamed from Sheffield.

His contract with an American cable company along with other sponsorship deals has earned him £3.25m - compared with earnings of £5m last year.
