Sending postcards to aliens
Girl with pictures
Postcards will be sent into space alongside DNA
Visitors to the National Space Centre are being asked to send a postcard into space.

A workshop called "I drew this and I thought of you" is being run at the centre in Leicester from 19 October until 27 October.

All pictures are being posted on a display rocket during the week before being sent across to the US.

The picture postcards will then be launched into space on board Humanity's First Starship which will carry messages, photographs and DNA to the stars in 2004.

The week is being held as part the Big Draw Event, a Berol-sponsored event called Campaign for Drawing iniative, which aims to get more people drawing.

There will be prizes for the most imaginative drawing each day.
