The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is at the scene
A helicopter pilot has been critically injured in a crash on the Shropshire and Herefordshire border.

The aircraft came down at 1445 BST near the A456 at Woofferton.

The 44-year-old was taken by air ambulance to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmigham where he is being treated for multiple injuries.

Police say no-one else was involved in the crash.

They say the man suffered multiple fractures and is having a brain scan.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "The helicopter was on a private flight at the time of the incident."

An inquiry has been started by the Air Accident Investigation Branch and the police.
