Missing tortoise traced
Tortoise
Tortoises can travel long distances, but Florence had a helping hand
An Essex woman is celebrating after being reunited with her lost tortoise.

Linda Bowen, of Sible Hedingham, was devastated when 63-year-old Florence disappeared in June.

Linda finally tracked her down to an address in Rayleigh.

But Florence had not made the 35-mile trip under her own steam.

She had only travelled about 20 feet from home when she was rescued by a visitor to the village.

Unable to find Frlorence's owner, the rescuer took her back to the Rayleigh for safe keeping.

Linda said the whole family was thrilled to have her back.
