More than 47,000 runners hit Tyneside on Sunday for the Great North Run - the biggest half-marathon in the world.
Huge crowds gathered to watch the 47,000 contestants run the 13 mile race from Newcastle to South Shields
Athletes, celebrities and people running for charities all took part in the main race, wheelchair event and fun run
Contestants ran past several Tyneside landmarks
Some contestants dressed as watches, fairies, nurses... and Dorothy and the Lion
Jane Tomlinson, diagnosed with terminal cancer, was raising money for Cancer Research
Some celebrities, like Frank Bruno, appeared to be coping fine...
...Others, like John Motson, complained of the surprising heat, and sore legs
Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan won the women's event in 1hr, 7 mins and 19 seconds
Paul Kosgei of Kenya won in a new course record time - 59 mins and 58 seconds
