Drug arrests after police raids
Police raid
About 60 officers were involved in the operation
Eight people have been arrested by police in an operation to stop street drug-dealing.

About 60 officers from Lancashire Police raided 10 homes in the Nelson and Brierfield areas.

The raids were part of the ongoing Operation Flourish started in response to concerns raised by people living in the area.

Heroin and crack cocaine, mobile phones and cash were among items seized by police.

Lancashire Police has encouraged the public to report drug-related criminal activity.

Intelligence for the some of the raids was gathered as a result of calls to the Crimestoppers line.

Sergeant Steve Hindle of Lancashire Police said: "If we have to do a raid every day we will do, to crack down on drug-related crime."
