Fire rages at high school
Staffordshire Police
More than a hundred firefighters are tackling a blaze at a school in Staffordshire.

Crews were called in from all over the county to Chase Terrace High School in Burntwood at 2115BST on Wednesday.

Officers were using breathing apparatus to fight the flames from inside the building but had to withdraw because it became too dangerous.

They then moved to a platform above the school and doused the flames with water from the swimming pool.

In a separate incident, a large fire has broken out at the Goodyear Tyre plant in Wolverhampton.

Firefighters were called to the factory at 2230 this evening.

It is thought a large quantity of tyres are burning and a warehouse is on fire.
