The toilets will be converted to a day chalet
A former toilet block on the Dorset coast has been sold for more than £37,000.

The original asking price for the building at Charmouth was £25,000.

But there was so much competition for the toilets, would-be buyers were asked to make sealed bids.

It is a lovely spot - but someone has to really want it to pay that sort of money

Roy Wootton, estate agent

The new owner will be able to convert the block into a chalet for daytime use.

The 140-square-foot single-storey building overlooks Dorset's Heritage Coast.

Roy Wootton of Martin Diplock Estate Agents said: "The views are super, with Golden Cap cliff to the left, the sea and the beach to the front and Lyme Regis to the right."

Five people were involved in the final bids.

The exact selling price has not been revealed.

Patio plan

The privately-owned building has planning permission to be converted into a chalet for daytime use.

It has a 10-foot strip of land at the front, which will become a patio.

"It is a lovely spot - but someone has to really want it to pay that sort of money," said Mr Wootton.
