'Bullied' worker fears action over website
A council worker who set up a website to expose her experiences of alleged bullying at work, claims her job is at risk.

Deborah Rees has worked for Swindon social services department for four years.

Ms Rees said she hoped the website would encourage others to talk openly about their experiences.

But she now expects to face disciplinary action for setting it up.

I don't want what's happened to me to happen to anyone else

Deborah Rees
"I think I wasn't very popular because of what I had done," she said.

"What you find when you do something like that is everyone turns their back on you and that was certainly true in my case.

"I honestly believe it's too late for me now, but I don't think it's too late for the other people and I think it can present an opportunity for other people to stop this happening.

"I guess that's my prime motivation."

Jerry Oliver, acting director of housing and social services at Swindon Council said: "We always welcome comments from members of staff at any time, either through their team meetings or other channels.

"I am concerned she has sought to raise concerns that I'm not party to with the press.

"I will be taking that up with her as her employer."
