The data, published by the Independent Schools Information Service, is based on the points system used by the university admissions service - with an A grade worth 10 points and an E grade worth 2 points.

The figure given for each school is an average points score for candidates, with Winchester College recording the highest rating.

Where schools have used the international baccalaureates rather than A levels, such as Sevenoaks School, the results have been converted to be comparable.
