Passenger levels rise at Easyjet
Easyjet plane takes off
Passenger numbers are up at EasyJet
Families flying out for some winter sunshine have helped no-frills airline Easyjet report a 16% rise in passenger traffic for December.

The Luton-based budget carrier said it flew 1.67 million passengers during the month, up from the 1.44 million seen in December 2002.

Its load factor - the measure of how full its planes are - also increased, going up from 77% to 80%.

Easyjet said the rises indicated its ability to meet public demand.

"December was a good month for Easyjet," said chief executive Ray Webster.

"This increase highlights once more the robustness of the Easyjet business model."
