Digby Jones at the helm of the CBI

The CBI's director general Digby Jones is to stay in his post until 2006 after members of the group representing British firms urged him to stay on.
Mr Jones was due to leave his £295,000 post at the end of 2004 but has now extended his planned term by two years.
"No-one fights the corner for business more energetically and effectively," said CBI president Sir John Egan.
Mr Jones said he looked forward to tackling "some major political and business issues on the horizon".
Tireless work
Over the past four years, Mr Jones had "tirelessly argued the case for businesses large and small, from every sector, in every part of the UK and wherever they operate in Europe and around the world," Mr Egan said.
Commenting on his decision to stay on board Mr Jones said: "I am honoured to have been asked to go on batting for business.
"I passionately believe business is a cornerstone of all our lives. Socially-inclusive wealth creation is vital to everyone.
